Meticulous sorting in the vineyard to first ensure that all the fruit is immaculate, and second, to forego the need for fining agents or any other treatments back at the winery. Whole bunch pressing and wild-yeast fermentation in stainless steel.
This Riesling has aromas of mandarin, freshly cut lemon, green apple and peach on the nose. The palate is fresh and lean, with firm acidity dovetailing beautifully with the fine residual sweetness. A very linear white wine showing great tension through to a persistent, citrus-inflected finish.
The south-facing Niedermenniger Herrenberg is situated on red slate and was planted in 1974.
