Nach der Handlese gelangen die Weintrauben zügig in die Kellerei. Hier werden sie sortiert und behutsam gepresst. Der Ausbau findet im grossen Eichenholzfass (1'200 Liter) statt. Da im Keller komplett auf tierische Produkte verzichtet wird, sind alle Weine des Weinguts vegan.
Slightly reductive on a spicy, dense, deep nose. A Riesling with good acidic backbone and a lovely sense of ripeness.
The Jesuitengarten grand cru comprises 26 hectares and is situated directly on the Rhine between Winkel and Geisenheim. It has alluvial soil interspersed with shallow sand and gravel. Thanks to its good heat-retaining properties, the site is one the Rheingau's warmest. The Johannishof estate's holdings in this vineyard consist of vines aged over 40 years.
