Manual harvest. A portion of the stems (15%) were included in the fermentation in stainless steel. The wine then matured for 14 months in used barrique and barrels of 500 liter as well es big oak casks of 1'000 and 3'000 liters (Fuder).
Ruby colour. Nose of black cherry, raspberry, plum and violet, with spicy hints of pepper providing a subtle accompaniment. This Rioja belies its 14.5% abv, showing no sign of alcoholic heat on the palate. A rounded, juicy red wine that remains fresh and balanced. Highly approachable with a long finish.
The Tempranillo part of the blend was sourced from old vineyards in Fonzaleche, Salinillas and Sajazarra, while the Grenache comes from Cárdenas.
