The primary focus during the vinification stage is on the preserving and expressing the purity of the fruit picked in the vineyard. Selective manual harvest followed by slow fermentation based on the wild yeasts that occur naturally in the vineyard – a process that can last more than 10 months. Maturation in traditional Mosel Fuder (oak casks).
A powerful, juicy Riesling with a pronounced linear structure, bursting with energy and expression. Intense minerality drives this wine, imparting great precision and purity. The palate is taut and focused, with an almost austere attack that opens up to reveal depth, tension and immense clarity.
Die 1 Hektar grosse Lage befindet sich gleich neben der Pündericher Fähranlegestelle. Die Parzelle der Terrassen ist am oberen Ende und es sind teils uralte Reben (110 Jahre!). Der Boden ist fast komplett aus blauem Schiefer, welche dem Wein eine besondere Mineralität und reife verleiht.
