Manual harvest followed by vinification in oak as well as stainless steel, with little to no winemaking intervention. Then a long period of maturation on the gross lees. This pure wine is neither fined nor filtered.
Complex on the nose , with fresh herbs, peach, apple, pear, candied citrus and subtle yeast. Full-bodied on the palate, with lots of grip and tension. Saline minerality on a very long finish.
All the estate's vines grow on organically farmed, steep terrain. The fruit for this wine comes from monopole vineyard Batterieberg, where ungrafted vines were planted some 100 years ago on quartzite-rich grey slate soils.
