Hand-picked and hand-selected grapes. Gentle pressing followed by wild-yeast fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel and large oak casks. Subsequent maturation on the fine lees through the winter until bottling in the spring.
Nose of lime, grapefruit and white peach alongside fine herbal aromas and a whiff of smoky, stony slate. Taut, crystalline and elegant on the palate, with vibrant acidity, a driven mouthfeel, dark and salty minerality and a long finish.
The grapes for this 'Riesling Mineral' bottling mainly come from Monzinger Niederberg and from younger vines in the other top Monzinger vineyards. Blue Devonian slate and quartzite define these sites.
