Manual harvest followed by gentle pressing. Wild-yeast fermentation, with the wine subsequently spending time in a 1,000- or 500-litre cask. No chemical additions. Each separate bottling is made from a single cask.
This Riesling Spätlese has an intense nose of peach, apricot, lime and orange with a touch of mint. Full-bodied on the palate, with exquisite sweetness and beautifully balanced acidity. Electrifying minerality and fully ripe fruit notes of orange and peach with a sprinkling of herbs result in an almost an endless finish.
The Weber family farms 13 hectares in a tributary valley of the Saar called 'Konzer Tälchen', which means 'the little valley of Konz'. Most of the vineyards have a southerly aspect and iron-rich, grey-slate soils.
