Organic
Manual harvest followed by gentle pressing. Overnight sedimentation to clarify the juice, then wild-yeast fermentation in new oak barrels. After maturing for 12 months, the wine is lightly fined and then bottled without filtration.
Domaine Barraud's Pouilly-Fuissé Sur La Roche 2024 has a concentrated nose showing ripe citrus, pear, apricot, exotic notes and fine oak characters, complemented by hints of butter brioche and broken stone. Balanced and densely woven on the palate, with good concentration. Juicy and precise. The use of oak has been perfectly judged. Long finish with ripe citrus, flint, and saline minerality.
Domaine Barraud is an organically farmed estate comprising 11 hectares of vineyard situated between the spectacular Mâconnais limestone escarpments of Solutré and Vergisson, where the soils are a mixture of limestone, clay and flint. Sur La Roche is situated 350 metres above sea level. The vines are around 40 years old, with the soil consisting of Jurassic limestone.
