No pesticides or herbicides in the vineyard. Gentle vinification with only subtle use of oak. An average of 25% new oak for both reds and whites.
The 2023 Maranges Vieilles Vignes has a nose of blackberry, violet, and crushed stone, underscored with notes of tobacco and damp earth. This is a medium-bodied and fresh Pinot Noir, with juicy acidity and supple tannins lending gentle grip. Persistent finish with an abundance of fruit and a hint of white pepper.
A blend of three plots in Maranges – Les Clos, Sur le Bois and Aux Artaux – with vines aged between 35 and 55 years old.
The Bachelet brothers farm 20 hectares of vineyard in Puligny-Montrachet, Santenay, Saint-Aubin, Meursault, Maranges and Dezize-lès-Maranges. Their Pinot Noir vines have an average age of 55 years, their Chardonnay vines an average age of 45 years.
