Maturation for 18 months in French oak barrels, of which 35% are new.
Nose of ripe plum, blackberry and blackcurrant, along with dark chocolate, spice, tobacco and hints of dried flowers. Powerful but balanced and approachable on the palate, with powder-fine tannins. Juicy persistence on the finish, with blue fruit, black tea and fine spice.
Les Hauts Conseillants is a ten-hectare estate in Lalande-de-Pomerol. Six hectares of vineyard are situated on sandy, clayey soils with a gravelly subsoil, with the remaining four hectares sitting on a gravelly outcrop mixed with clay.
