After an initial sorting in the vineyard, the grapes are sorted a second time when they arrive at the cellar. Maturation for 12 month in 500 Litre French oak barrels.
Red fruit, beautiful minerality and a hint of spice on the nose. Fresh on the palate, with lovely fruit expression, floral and balsamic notes, fine tannins and a lingering finish.
From Mencía vines planted over 25 years ago. The vineyards at Bodegas Casa Monte Pío are comprised of small sandy plots. Diminutive holdings like these dominate the Galician landscape.
