Manual harvest and meticulous selection followed by destemming and subsequent wild-yeast fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats. The wine spends 12 months in used French oak barrels.
This Tempranillo offers ripe red and dark berries, dried herbs, fine spice notes and delicate roasted aromas on the nose. The palate is medium-bodied, elegant and approachable, with a gentle, harmonious tannin structure. Fine, long finish with an abundance of fruit and a pleasing touch of spice.
A blend of three vineyards – Cuesta Rubial, Carraquintana and El Olivo – in the eastern part of the village of Gumiel de Mercado. The vines sit on loamy and calcareous soils interspersed with sand at lofty elevations of 850 to 890 metres. Wild lavender, thyme and various species of flower grow between the vines, boosting biodiversity.
