Meticulous sorting in the vineyard to first ensure that all the fruit is immaculate, and second, to forego the need for fining agents or any other treatments back at the winery. Whole bunch pressing and wild-yeast fermentation in stainless steel.
This is a gorgeous Riesling Auslese with intense aromas of peach, lime juice, fresh herbs, tea leaves, Williams pear and lychee alongside hints of chalk and flint. Very pure and juicy on the palate, with wonderful balance between sweetness and acidity. The wine remains light, elegant and harmonious throughout, with a persistent finish ending on yellow fruit notes and a hint of honey.
The south and southwest-facing Krettnacher Euchariusberg is situated on grey slate and was planted in 1973.
