Manual harvest followed by vinification in oak as well as stainless steel, with little to no winemaking intervention. Then a long period of maturation on the gross lees. This pure, wine is neither fined nor filtered.
Ripe red apple, citrus, peach, Mediterranean herbs and a touch of flint on the nose. Balanced on the palate with a fine residual sweetness, powerful body and fine tannin structure. A Riesling of great potential and beautiful length on the finish.
The Ellergrub vineyard in Enkirch is extremely steep, with soil composed of finely weathered blue slate. The vines are around 80 years old.
