Manual harvest followed by fermentation for around seven days in stainless steel vats, involving daily remontage (pumping over of the juice). Subsequent maturation for several months in concrete.
This is a Barbera showing pronounced cherry fruit as well as strawberry, raspberry, plum, pepper and a hint of leather. Juicy palate with lots of freshness alongside balanced, ripe tannins. The finish is persistent, with abundant red fruit and delicate spice notes.
The north-west-facing Plaustra vineyard in Santa Maria di La Morra was planted in 2008. Plaustra is the old name given to the small valley located directly behind the winery.
