Syrah / Shiraz
Syrah, also referred to as Shiraz in the New World, is a noble and ancient red grape variety. France’s Rhône Valley is its historic cradle. Sourced from very good, low-yielding sites, Syrah wines tend to be deeply coloured and rich in tannin. They have great ageing potential as well as typical aromas of violet, blackcurrant, black pepper, plum, chocolate and leather.
