Nebbiolo
Piedmont native Nebbiolo is probably Italy’s finest grape along with Sangiovese. It produces complex, expressive, ageworthy wines that are reminiscent of great Burgundy after many years of ageing but quite tannic in their youth. Nebbiolos are articulate communicators of terroir, with an aromatic profile of roses, sour cherry, tea, tobacco, truffle, undergrowth, earth, and violet.
