Hand-picked and hand-selected grapes underwent an eight-hour cold maceration ('cold soak'). After being pressed gently and slowly, the juice was fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel, where it also then spent 10 months on the gross lees without any bâtonnage (lees stirring).
A remarkably pure and lovely ripe nose showing fine spice, cracked stone and precise red fruit aromas. On the palate, this is a poised, delineated wine with wonderful texture, pronounced natural extract and great depth. Precise, elegant, and framed by exceptional purity and finesse – an impressive Riesling of great length.
Bordering the Palatinate Forest (Pfälzer Wald), Hölle is a south-facing vineyard situated at the foot of the 600-metre Teufelsberg mountain. Consisting of weathered sandstone with limestone deposits, its soils tap into adequate moisture thanks to the presence of an underground spring.
