No pesticides or herbicides in the vineyard. Gentle vinification with only subtle use of oak. An average of 25% new oak for both reds and whites.
This Chassagne-Montrachet has an expressive Chardonnay nose, with citrus fruit and citrus zest, ripe fruit, a touch of chalk, and brioche. The palate offers fine, firm acidity, wonderful balance and a long, driving finish carried by fine, saline minerality.
The Bachelet brothers farm 20 hectares of vineyard in Puligny-Montrachet, Santenay, Saint-Aubin, Meursault, Maranges and Dezize-lès-Maranges. Their Pinot Noir vines have an average age of 55 years, their Chardonnay vines an average age of 45 years.
