Careful selection of hand-picked grapes. Destemming followed by gentle pressing. Controlled fermentation and further maturation in 228-litre oak barrels made from the finest French oak. After an extended period on its lees, the wine was bottled in autumn.
Tangy and linear on the nose. A powerful Chardonnay with robust acidity, a compact mouthfeel and notable tension. Elegant vinification has brought out a fine note of honey that rounds off the wine.
Sourced from 30- to 40-year-old vineyard holdings situated on both sides of the Franco-German border. The subsoil consists of weathered limestone under a topsoil of loam and clay.
