Merlot grapes hand-picked on 29 September, with subsequent fermentation on the skins in an oak vessel for 10 days. The juice was then pressed before being left to mature in new and used oak of varying sizes.
Merlot Mon Église has an intense nose showing blueberry, dark cherry, delicate herbal notes and well-judged vanilla oak. The palate is powerful, with fine, silky tannins and vibrant acidity. This red wine has excellent concentration and wonderfully intense berry flavours on a long finish.
From a vines planted from a rare selection of Pomerol cuttings. This small plot lies on a slight rise in the valley floor, looking over to the village of Ellerstadt and its church.
