Hand-picked grapes transported swiftly back to the winery. Triage and gentle pressing. Fermentation in 1'200-litre oak vessels. All the estate's wines are vegan, i.e. no animal products were used in the vinification process.
Gorgeous tertiary notes along with wet stone. Earthy, edgy and lean. This late-release bottling is wonderfully deep and structured – and still electrifying after more than a decade.
The vineyards of the famous Rüdesheim hill sit on medium-to-deep Taunus quartzite soils that have a light covering of slate.
