Hand-picked Riesling fruit transported swiftly back to the winery. Meticulous selection (limited yield of around 35 hl/ha) followed by gentle pressing. Fermentation in stainless steel, where the wine remains on its fine lees for a few months before bottling.
Mild nose of red fruit, wild herbs, and spice. Minerally and lean on the palate. This is a wonderfully complex, stimulating wine.
The grapes for this village-level Riesling come from south-facing plots near the edge of Nonnenberg as well as Rothenberg. Loess-loam and deep phyllite soils.
