The Chardonnay grapes for this wine are picked by hand usually in the early part of harvest season. Gentle whole-bunch pressing in a vertical press, followed by 11 months of maturation in 350-litre barrels, preferably without any bâtonnage (lees stirring). Use of no more than 50% new oak.
Delicate nose of citrus, pear, apple and quince, with floral notes and subtle hints of oak. This Meursault is wonderfully balanced on the palate, showing lots of freshness and energy as well as juicy acidity and pronounced minerality.
Les Clous is an east-facing plot situated in the western part of Meursault. It is blessed with characteristic limestone soils. Guillaume and Camille farm the site organically, albeit without certification for the time being.
