Hand-picked and hand-selected grapes. Cold maceration ('cold soak') followed by fermentation and gentle pressing. Maturation, including malolactic fermentation, in 225-litre oak barrels for 12 months.
Deep ruby. Ripe red berries, dark cherry, liquorice and subtle roasted notes on the nose. Soft on the palate, with ripe fruit, a fine structure and firm tannins. Excellent ageing potential.
Grown on loamy, silty, rocky, well-drained soils, from south-south-east-facing vines that have an average age of 20 years.
