Selective manual harvest of grapes at peak ripeness. Maceration (skin contact) for 12 hours followed by gentle pressing, fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats, and subsequent maturation on the lees until just before bottling.
Intense aromas of ripe apricot and yellow peach on the nose, complemented by hints of honey, exotic pineapple/melon characters and flint. Dry on the palate, with juicy acidity and a medium body. This Riesling delivers a lot of extract and has a long, exotic finish.
The fruit for this bottling is sourced exclusively from the Steinbuckel and Kirschgarten Grosse Lagen (grands crus), where old vines grow above a bedrock of pure limestone.
