Special characteristic

Destemming and triage of the grapes. Transfer into fermentation vessels, with maceration (skin contact) lasting around 20 days. Careful maturation, including malolactic fermentation, with 50% in 350-litre barrels (second-use) and 50% in 'Vinification Intégrale®' barrels. Only minimally filtered before bottling.

Bright ruby colour. Spicy nose, with red and black fruit. Fresh, subtle and multi-layered on the palate, with elegance and silky tannins.

The terroir in Volnay is dominated by limestone overlain by banks of schist. Grown at altitudes of between 230 and 280 metres, Volnay wines have great aromatic intensity and exceptional finesse.
