Special characteristic

Destemming and triage of the grapes. Transfer into fermentation vessels, with maceration (skin contact) lasting around 20 days. Careful maturation, including malolactic fermentation, with 50% in 350-litre barrels (second-use) and 50% in 'Vinification Intégrale®' barrels. Only minimally filtered before bottling.

Ruby colour. Intense and fruit-driven on the nose, with strawberry, raspberry, red and black cherry, violet, rose petal and delicate oak-influenced roasted notes of vanilla and coffee. This Pinot has a very elegant palate with delicate tannins and good structure. The finish is very long and complex.

The terroir in Volnay is dominated by limestone overlain by banks of schist. Grown at altitudes of between 230 and 280 metres, Volnay wines have great aromatic intensity and exceptional finesse.
