Manual harvest followed by a further selection of the grapes, resulting in an approximate average yield of just 45 hl/ha. Complete destemming of the fruit. Fermentation in open-top oak fermenters. Subsequent maturation in used pièces (228-litre Burgundian barrels) for around 13 months, then bottled unfiltered.

The nose shows fresh summer berries and notes reminiscent of sour cherry. This is an elegant, fine-boned, approachable entry-level Pinot Noir.

The grapes come from young vines in the estate's Erste and Grosse Lage holdings as well as very old vines at the foot of the slope. Rocky, red sandstone soil with an iron-rich subsoil.
