Meticulous selection of hand-picked grapes. Destemming then temperature-controlled fermentation on the skins for 18 days. Maturation, including malolactic fermentation, in new and used oak barrels (17 months).
Pure fruit expression on a generous, inviting nose. Silky on the palate, with juicy minerality and a great amount of charm. Balanced finish.
Very aromatic and finely scented, with pronounced minerality. Delicate yet full-bodied and rich. Reticent at first on the nose, but slowly opening up to show ultra-fine, complex Pinot fruit, ripe strawberries and subtle barrel notes. This compact and satisfyingly concentrated Spätburgunder packs a punch on the palate, with lots of fruit expression, perfect acidity, and good balance. Beautiful harmony with medium length on the finish.
