Immaculate hand-picked and hand-selected grapes vinified in separate batches according to their specific vineyard site. Partial whole-bunch maceration (stems included) in a large oak vessel (capacity of two metric tons), then cool fermentation accompanied by regular punch-downs of the grape skins. Gentle pressing followed by maturation on the fine less for 16 to 18 months in 228-litre pièces (Burgundian oak barrels). Creation of the initial blend after around 12 months; the final blend is made before bottling in the spring.

Deep ruby. Fresh nose of red and black berries. Exquisite balance of acidity, fruit, finesse and elegance on the palate. This is a powerful, beautifully aromatic wine that can already be drunk now but has excellent ageing potential.

Produced from the best Pinot Noir clones that produce highly concentrated grapes, planted at an altitude of between 550 and 600 metres in Maienfeld. The vines date back around 30 years and grow on well-drained terrain consisting of ancient deposits originating from the Alps and the Rhine. The stony top soil is kept green all year round.
