Meticulous selection of hand-picked grapes. Destemming followed by fermentation on the skins for three weeks in open-top oak fermenters and vats, then gentle pressing. Subsequent maturation for 18 months in small barrels made from German and French oak. No filtering and or any other treatment.
An incredibly complex red wine. Finesse, succulence, density and ripe tannins – everything perfect. Fine balsamic notes, dark berries and pronounced minerality round off this exceptional wine.
Der Heydenreich ist der höchstgelegene Weinberg des Weinguts. Er liegt im französischen Teil der Einzellage Sonnenberg oberhalb der Lage Sankt Paul auf 200 bis 220 Metern Höhe. Die nach Süden abfallende Lage ist von massivem Kalkstein mit einer dünnen Auflage aus Lehm und Ton geprägt.
