Only the very best meticulously hand-picked grapes go into this grand cru Riesling, pressed exclusively as whole bunches. The wine rests on its fine lees for 11 months in old 600- and 1,200-litre casks.
The 2022 Nonnenberg is a powerful Riesling with an intense nose of lime and bergamot, framed by spicy notes, broken stone and a fine, creamy character. Complex and multilayered on the palate, with notes of red apple, juicy citrus and a vibrant, precise and tense mouthfeel. The finish is finely spiced and long-lasting. A characterful wine with great ageing potential
This five-hectare monopole in Rauenthal is a steep south-facing site with deep phyllite soils that transition into loess-loam further down the slope. The grapes for this great wine come from the steepest section of the vineyard, where some of the vines are over 70 years of age.
