Special characteristic

Manual harvest involving several passes through the vineyard. Maceration (skin contact) for 12 hours followed by wild-yeast fermentation in stainless steel.

This Riesling has a very aromatic nose of stone fruit – apricot and peach – as well as pear and citrus. Mineral notes of flint and a hint of salinity complement these fruity characters. The palate is slightly creamy, with juicy acidity and good length.

The grapes for this village-level bottling came from the Westhofener Kirchspiel vineyard. The terroir consists of heavy clay marl interspersed with limestone. Water-bearing veins of limestone help to keep the vines hydrated even in the hottest conditions.
