Special characteristic

Hand-picked and hand-selected grapes. Cold maceration ('cold soak') for 24 hours followed by gentle pressing, then natural sedimentation to clarify the juice. Subsequent fermentation in stainless steel, with maturation for six months on the fine lees before bottling in June of the following year.

Pale lemon. Lovely fruity, fresh aromas on the nose, with charming smoky, spicy tones derived from shell-limestone terroir. Cool minerality through a wonderfully elegant interplay of fruit and acidity. The impressions on the nose continue as flavours on the palate, with beautiful fruit expression as well as striking salinity and smoky notes. Great ageing potential.

Biengarten is a south-facing vineyard. It has a 10-degree incline and its soils consist of shell limestone.
