Hand-picked and hand-selected grapes. Fermentation on the skins for 18 days, followed by pressing and subsequent maturation, including malolactic fermentation, for 18 months in 100% new oak barrels. The wine was bottled unfiltered before being released for sale.

Complex nose of flowers and spice. Firm structure on the palate. Fine tannins with elegant extract and lovely grip. Notes of fruit and spice lead to a tremendous finish.

The historically renowned Herrenberg vineyard is situated below the rocks of the Schwedenkopf hill. Its terraced southern portion is a steep south-facing slope with gradients of up to 60 degrees as well as slate and greywacke soils.
