Temperature-controlled fermentation on the skins followed by maturation for 13 to 18 months in French oak and a further six months of bottle ageing.
Complex nose of fresh fig, plum, liquorice, flowers, tobacco and black pepper. Intricate and elegant but full of tension on the palate, with silky tannins, tremendous succulence and spicy fruit. Minerally with an almost endless finish.
Thanks to the exceptional geology and local climate at their disposal, Tenuta Il Palagio are able to produce some exceptional and unique wines. Abundant sunshine and sufficient rainfall result in high-quality Tuscan fruit born of meagre limestone terroir.
