Hand-picked and hand-selected grapes. Gentle pressing followed by 12 months of maturation, including malolactic fermentation, in large oak barrels (70%) and large oak casks (30%). After the individual components were blended together, the wine spent a further short period in oak barrels.
Medium ruby. Pure and powerful on the nose with red and black berries. This single-varietal Pinot Noir is velvety and impeccably structured on the palate, with complex richness, fascinating elegance, great finesse and a persistent finish.
Fruit from wineries in the municipalities of Appiano, Kaltern and Pinzon, grown at elevations of between 350 and 550 metres. The vines are beteen 10 an 35 years old and enjoy a south-easterly and south-westerly aspect on moraine debris and limestone gravel.
