Over 20 red grape varieties from the Douro Valley went into this wine, of which Touriga Franca, Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Amarela and Rufete played the leading roles. Manual harvest followed by fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel. Subsequent maturation in French oak vessels for 20 months.

Purple colour. Very elegant on the palate, with depth, power, lovely fruit expression and wonderful balance. Lots of class and finesse. A delicious red wine of great potential.

Vines aged around 80 years, situated on slate soils at elevations of between 450 and 600 metres in one of coldest areas of Portugal (temperatures as low as -5ºC to -10ºC in winter).
