Manual harvest. After an initial sorting in the vineyard, the grapes were sorted a second time on arrival at the winery. Maturation for 20 months in large Slavonian oak casks and 36 months of ageing in bottle.
This is the estate's second Gran Selezione bottling. Deep ruby in appearance, with forest fruit, violet, Amarena cherry, spicy tobacco, mint and a hint of forest floor on the nose. The palate is exceptionally elegant, with fine tannins and a long finish characterised by forest fruit. This wine will continue to develop over the next 10 years.
From vines that grow on the estate's most prized soils: limestone clays of marine origin, rich in galestro rosso schist. Facing south and south-west, these vineyards benefit from cooling breezes.
