Special characteristic

Wild-yeast fermentation in 60-hectolitre conical wooden fermenters, with maceration (skin contact) lasting around 40 days. Subsequent maturation for 30 months in 25-hectolitre Slavonian oak vessels.

Fine aromas of plum, spice, truffle, rose and violet on the nose. Small dark fruit and slight hints of dried fruit on the palate, married with beautifully integrated tannins, fine minerality and a long, full-bodied finish.

Sourced from the Serradenari single vineyard in La Morra, the 'grand cru' village famous for its Barolo. Serradenari is the highest vineyard in the entire Barolo region, sitting 450 to 540 metres above sea level. Its soils range from limestone and loam on the upper slopes to fossil-rich sand lower down.
