Special characteristic

Whole-bunch pressing followed by a short period of maceration (skin contact). Wild-yeast fermentation and subsequent maturation in old oak.

Gold colour, with a nose of citrus, apple, mandarin and white stone fruit. Soft and elegant on the palate, with firm acidity and refreshing herbal notes. A special Riesling of unique stature.

Rothenpfad is south-south-east-facing with red slate. They generally pick the grapes here a little later compared to other GG vineyards, owing to a slightly cooler microclimate.
