Hand-picked and hand-selected grapes. Cold maceration ('cold soak') for 12 hours followed by slow, gentle pressing. Classic wild-yeast fermentation in traditional Mosel Fuder (1,000-litre oak casks) and subsequent maturation on the lees for 10 months.

Pale lemon. Intense, fresh stone fruit characters. This is a pure, ultra-concentrated and refined Riesling imbued with distinctive minerality. Tremendous length on an almost endless finish.

Sourced from the cadastral plot of the same name, 'Raffes' is a special selection of immaculate grapes from the oldest terraces within the Falkenlay vineyard, where the soils are deep and consist of grey slate. The vines were planted in 1945 and enjoy a southerly aspect.
