Fermentation in stainless steel followed by malolactic fermentation and maturation in barriques. Blending after almost one year, then maturation for six more months in large oak.

Deep ruby. Complex aromas of coffee, cocoa and forest fruit on the nose. Full-bodied and chocolatey on the palate, but with the requisite amount of freshness and linearity, developing an immense amount of drive. Well-integrated acidity. Tremendous ageing potential.

The vineyards in and around Bolzano offer an ideal terroir for the Lagrein grape to scale the proverbial heights. The fruit for this wine grows on the exposed south-east-facing slope that forms part of the Wangger farm in Leitach at the entrance to the Isarco Valley. The soils here are comprised of moraine debris and sandy alluvium.
