Fermentation in stainless steel followed by malolactic fermentation and maturation in large oak.

Purple colour. Nose of cherry, blackberry and dried plum, with delicate spice providing a subtle accompaniment. Dry and full-bodied on the palate, with lots of ripe tannins and balanced acidity. Dark berries linger on a persistent finish.

The vineyards in and around Bolzano offer an ideal terroir for the Lagrein grape to scale the proverbial heights. The fruit for this wine grows on the exposed south-east-facing slope that forms part of the Wangger farm in Leitach at the entrance to the Isarco Valley. The soils here are comprised of moraine debris and sandy alluvium.
