Manual harvest of grapes at peak ripeness. Traditional fermentation on the skins in oak vessels followed by extended maceration for 20 days. Subsequent gentle pressing with maturation in new oak (60%) and used oak (40%), without any intervention.

Nose of black berries, dark chocolate and orange zest. Densely structured tannins, pronounced spice, and dark fruit flavours on the palate. A juicy, elegant, mineral-driven red wine with lots of grip.

Markus Schneider's portfolio of vineyards offer ideal conditions both during and outside the growing season. He also has a veritable mosaic of soils at his disposal: loam, crushed rock, gravel, sand, loess, red sandstone, limestone and various types of clay.
