Selective manual harvest from early to mid-September. Fermentation and subsequent time on the lees in stainless steel until the end of February.
Bright pale lemon colour with a slightly greenish hue. Pineapple, elderberry, gooseberry and honey dominate the nose. This is a stylish Sauvignon Blanc – a white wine with refreshing acidity, delicate minerality and a wonderful silky texture.
The vines – aged between 10 and 30 years – grow at elevations of between 450 and 600 metres in the Appiano Monte district near the centre of San Michele. This Sauvignon Blanc owes its vibrancy and expressiveness to limestone gravel soils and to evening downdrafts of cold air from the mountains.
