Scheurebe

Named after Georg Scheu, the viticulturist who bred the variety in 1916, Scheurebe is a cross between Riesling and Bukettraube. Fully ripened, Scheurebe can have subtle, racy aromas and flavours of blackcurrant and grapefruit. In Germany and Austria, it is not uncommon for Scheurebe to also be vinified sweeter (as a Spätlese, Auslese, Beerenauslese, Trockenbeerenauslese or Eiswein).
