White wine

An incredibly varied range of white wines are produced around the world today, depending on factors such as grape variety, wine region, terroir, winemaking, and residual sugar. Grape pulp has relatively little colour, meaning that both lighter- and darker-skinned grapes can produce white wine. Early pressing helps to minimise colour extraction from the grape skins.
