The ripest Pinot Noir grapes were picked into small crates and then cooled down. Following a cold soak, the grape skins were gently pushed down by hand in 15-hectolitre vessels. The wine was subsequently matured for 18 months in high-quality 225-litre Allier oak barrels.
Medium ruby. Spicy and fruity aromas on the nose. Warm, complex fruit on a powerful, supple palate. Minerally, spicy finish.
From a low-lying site that benefits from a south-south-westerly aspect as well as proximity to the Klingnau reservoir. The older vines grow on shell-limestone sediment.
